NCN_NLFFI LogoFounded in 1988, the National Compadres Network (NCN) works to strengthen and re-root the capacity of individuals, families and communities to honor, rebalance, and redevelop the authentic identity, values, traditions and indigenous practices of Chicano, Latino, Native, Raza and other communities of color as the path to the honoring of all their relations and lifelong well-being. Central to NCN’s services is La Cultura Cura philosophy which supports Latino, African American, Native and other boys of color through its Joven Noble curriculum, focused on providing rites of passage, leadership, and character development to reduce teen pregnancies, substance abuse, and relationship-community violence.

Under the Empowerment Projects initiative, the National Compadres Network will strengthen its ‘La Cultura Cura’ approach in developing youth to become the next generation of community leaders.

Grant award: $450,000
