ACRS LogoFounded in 1973, Asian Counseling and Referral Service promotes social justice and the well-being and empowerment of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and other underserved communities – including immigrants, refugees, and American-born – by developing, providing and advocating for innovative, effective and efficient community-based multilingual and multicultural services. The Southeast Asian Young Men’s group currently serves Southeast Asian boys and young men in a school setting through weekly group sessions focused on learning about Southeast Asian history, the refugee experience, historical trauma, cultural identity, racism, oppression, youth violence, and substance abuse.

Under the Empowerment Projects Initiative, Asian Counseling and Referral Service will strengthen their storytelling programs, evaluation, and communications & advocacy efforts.
