Zong is the Queer Justice Director at Hmong American Women’s Association (HAWA) in Milwaukee, WI. He has been in the Hmong gender justice movement for over a decade. He develops and manages a program that provides direct services, information, and resources to victims and survivors of violence. Notably, he helps community members, especially young folk, become politically engaged and teaches them issue-based advocacy. Additionally, he works part-time as the Network Engagement Director at ManForward. This national Southeast Asian men’s gender justice organization works with men, boys, and masculine identities to develop new practices of masculinity and manhood by dismantling patriarchy. Zong is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Social Work at Columbia University, NY with a desire to focus on clinical social work and international refugee welfare.
