Social dehumanization is displayed through thoughts, feelings, and actions that divert or fail to invest resources in communities of color. We see social dehumanization in political gerrymandering and redlining related to housing and necessary services. These practices lead to concentrated intergenerational disadvantages. Panelists will dig into the policy decisions that illustrate the negative social, economic, health, and political outcomes stemming from these divestments and offer recommendations for systems reform.
